Zachary Dowis is a actor, singer, mechanic, carpenter from Eclectic, Alabama. Dowis has a love for baseball, but when injury caused those dreams to not pan out, theatre was there to save him. Dowis auditioned for Southern Union State Community College where his career in theatre blossomed into the profession it is today. After 4 productions and two years at SUSCC, Dowis received a letter of acceptance from The University of West Florida for the BFA Musical Theatre program. In his time at UWF, Dowis would go on to hone his acting skills as well as his talent for set building. In summer of 2019, Dowis received a contract for a carpenter position at Music Theatre Wichita in Wichita, Kansas where he was promoted in just two short weeks to Master Carpenter.

After building many sets at Music Theatre Wichita, and even appearing in a short documentary, Dowis returned to UWF to finish his senior year. He was soon cast in UWF’s Fall production First Date where he brilliantly showcased his skills in the role of Gabe. This would go on to be Dowis’s favorite role at UWF! This summer, Dowis will be returning to Music Theatre Wichita as Shop Foreman and hopes to move to New York City in the fall to pursue his acting career. Dowis would like to thank his fellow classmates for their support and encouragement!
